Bodham Village Hall
Bodham Village Hall has facilities for private parties, dances, meetings, etc. Rates
according to function.
The Village Hall Committee meets every month.
The latest BYO (Bring Your Own nibbles and wine) quiz took place on
Friday 21st May and was a huge success, raising £204.50 towards the upkeep of the Village
Hall.
The quizzes were started in 2000 and have been steered through the last ten years by an
extremely tolerant quizmaster Harry Bruford.
Originally there were 3 quizzes a year, gradually increased to 4 and in 2008 an extra was
added for the Bodham Big Weekend.
The next quiz is on 23rd July, Big Weekend Friday, immediately following the Lad's v
Dad's Football Match on the Playing Field.
Please come and join us, there are usually one or two tables available.
Teams of 4, or less if you think you are good enough!!
Bring Your Own, £3 each, a bit of fun, lots of banter and all for a good cause.
Contact Harry 588122 to book your table.
The Village Hall received a grant for £2,200 from Norfolk Community
Foundation to buy equipment to show films. This equipment has now been installed and our
first show was on 28 November 2008 the film was Mamma Mia! and we had an audience of 65,
all of whom greatly enjoyed the performance. The 2009-10 season started on 16 September
2009 with The Ladykillers. All our feature films are preceded by an episode of Shaun the
Sheep.
The new Big Screen has, so far, been a great success. In April 2010, as well as our
regular monthly film, we screened "Finding Nemo" and "Up" for the
younger children of the Village. They took place on two Wednesday mornings in place of
"Sure Start" which closed for the Easter Holiday. Both days were extremely well
attended and the children thoroughly enjoyed coming to the pictures!! It is very likely we
will continue with the children's films during the Summer Holidays
Following the article in the April 2010 Newsletter, a committee has been formed to decide
on future Film Shows. The committee members are Harriet Baker, Pam Baker, Julia Ball and
Norman Dovey.
A meeting has been held and, after a lengthy discussion, it was decided to show films on a
more regular basis, fortnightly to begin with and, if successful, weekly showings during
certain times of the year.

Additional grants has been given by Norfolk Community Foundation to put in a loop
system to assist the hearing impaired and for black-out curtains so that films can be
shown in daylight hours.
New Christmas decorations were very kindly given to the Village Hall are an added
attraction to the Hall.
